Chandigarh City Card

Actually this looks like I am promoting for Chandigarh Tourism, but the fact is I am.
This morning all the trainees went to Hotel MountView for a "breakfast" which is said to be celebrating the World Tourism Day. So there we were in the hotel, just so nice to be in a 5-star hotel and with all the decent looking people around. But the breakfast turned out that we have to be present at a press conference for the "Launch of City Card of Chandigarh", which to me is a good idea of marketing.

The City Card is a pass you can buy in any tourist spots at 100 rupees($2.5). With this card you can take any bus free of charge, go to Rock Garden and all the museums free of charge, and enjoy discounts in many restaurants and shops. Since Chandigarh is not the major tourism city in India, many tourist just come here for 1 day or simply come as the transition of the hill stations in Himalayas, the card can attract more tourists to spend money here and really travel around the city since the validity is for 3 days. It is a smart idea for me and I do believe this will help the tourism economy a lot.

Also on the conference we met the Governor of Punjab, a nice public speaker and wise person, as well the founder of Rock Garden, Nek Chand, whom we all thought has passed away (of course he is still kicking). Anyway, it's just a half day update and this afternoon we will be having a picnic in Leisure Valley with 100 kids from a slum and it would definitely be nice and meaningful.
